There is no universal usable-capacity figure for a Model 3. This guide intentionally leaves capacity blank. Obtain the original usable baseline for the installed pack and its software configuration before calculating degradation.

Charging capability
Confirm the AC limit and DC specification in the manual for the car’s market and build period. A charger’s advertised power is not a promise that the vehicle will sustain that rate.

Battery warranty
Tesla’s current US warranty lists different mileage limits by variant and a capacity-retention condition. Do not apply today’s table automatically to an older car; obtain its original warranty terms and start date.
Things worth checking before purchase
- Ask for a dated Battery Health result where the feature is available; Tesla notes that not all vehicles have it.
- Check whether the installed pack is original or a documented replacement, and use the correct capacity baseline.
- Compare the charge-port connector, available adapters and local network compatibility for imported vehicles.
- Record tyre size, temperature and recent consumption before interpreting the displayed range.

Collect a full-charge range estimate and recent battery-side consumption from matching conditions. Select the exact reference in the calculator. Where usable capacity is not verified, enter it from the appropriate documentation. Original specifications remain separate from any diagnostic figure supplied by the seller.
